Am I Eligible to Enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan?
All Domestic undergraduate students taking twelve (12) or more credit hours or 3 in the summer are eligible to enroll.
All Domestic graduate students taking nine (9) or more credit hours are eligible to enroll.
All international students including ESU, F-1, J1, visiting faculty and scholars are automatically enrolled in this Plan at registration, unless proof of comparable coverage is furnished.
All undergraduate and graduate students who have applied for graduation, have been approved by the registrar’s office, and are taking a minimum of three (3) hours of coursework during their final semester are considered full-time students by WKU and are eligible to enroll in the student health insurance plan.
Dependents of students enrolled in the plan may enroll in the plan on a voluntary basis.
Funded Graduate students will elect coverage through the school, and the premium charge will appear on your school account.
All international students at Western Kentucky University are required to carry health insurance and are automatically enrolled in the university's mandatory Academic HealthPlans, Inc. insurance plan, and the charge will appear on your university bill. Premium payments will be paid directly to AHP.
